about

BIO:
I grew up in a somewhat quiet neighborhood in Southern California. At night, the empty streets were washed in an orange glow; the air stagnant, but charged with limitless potential. I sought out the enigmatic and obscure, fascinated by the extremeties hidden in the cracks of suburbia. As a film student, I focused heavily on composition, light and shadow. These projects had a profound effect on my drawings. When I started painting, I felt pulled towards more uncontrollable materials. Mixed media provides its own challenges and creates spontaneity. My intent is to harness these chaotic elements and bring them into a new visual language with a sense of narrative.
